RecruitNav Insights

Editorial Standards

Purpose

RecruitNav Insights exists to help students and families make better-informed college decisions around their own priorities. We use evidence where it exists, distinguish analysis from fact, and say plainly where information is incomplete or uncertain.

Sourcing

Factual claims are supported by sources. We prefer primary, official and current sources where reasonably available. When we use averages, estimates, survey results or third-party rankings, we identify what they represent and avoid presenting them as more precise or universal than they are.

Original analysis

RecruitNav may analyze public data or RecruitNav school data to illustrate patterns, comparisons or decision tradeoffs. When we do, we explain the relevant methodology and distinguish our analysis from externally published facts.

Illustrative examples

Synthetic students, hypothetical scenarios and illustrative Match Score examples are labeled as such. They are used to explain concepts and are not representations of actual students unless clearly stated otherwise.

Corrections

If we get something materially wrong, we correct it. When the correction meaningfully affects the substance of a story, we note the correction on the page. Possible errors can be reported through RecruitNav Support.

Updates

When an article changes in a meaningful way, we show the date of that update. Minor wording, formatting or copy edits do not change the substantive update date.

Editorial analysis and the RecruitNav product

RecruitNav Insights and the RecruitNav matching product serve different purposes. An article may analyze a college, ranking, cost, admissions policy or other topic without changing how RecruitNav calculates personalized matches. Changes to the Match Score are governed separately through the product-development and validation process.

Authorship

Stories are published as RecruitNav Editorial, the editorial voice of RecruitNav. We do not attribute articles to fictional individual writers or credentials.

AI-assisted work

AI tools may assist with research organization, analysis, drafting, editing or visual production. Before publication, factual claims, sources and substantive conclusions are reviewed as part of RecruitNav's editorial process.

AI-generated text or analysis is not treated as a source.

Editorial independence from promotion

Insights articles may link to RecruitNav tools where relevant, but the article should provide useful information even if the reader never uses RecruitNav.
